Undergraduate Senior Thesis
- Examined the image of the Chu shaman in the works of the Chinese "root-seeking" authors of the 1980s and its influence on Su Wei's novel Witching Vale; essay nominated for departmental Williams Prize (2008)
Music Composition
- Commissioned by COMBA Telecom CEO Tony Fok and Yale Philharmonic conductor Shinik Hahm to re-orchestrate and compose original overture for cantata Ask the Sky and the Earth, a tribute to the "sent-down youth" of China's Cultural Revolution (spring 2010-present)
