Doubled Shadows: Selected Poems of Ouyang Jianghe
(forthcoming from Zephyr Press)
Ouyang Jianghe is one of the most highly regarded and most challenging poets writing in China today. His intricate, allusive verse has rarely been translated; I have been cooperating closely with Ouyang to create the first authoritative English translation of his works. Individual poems have been published in Zoland and Kenyon Review Online and are forthcoming in Poetry.

Witching Vale by Su Wei
Su Wei is a Chinese writer-in-exile who fled to the U.S. after the 1989 Tiananmen massacre. His wildly imaginative novels have earned great acclaim in China, and I am working to bring his novel Witching Vale to American readers. Witching Vale is a tale of sexual and supernatural intrigue inspired by Su's experiences being "re-educated" in rural Hainan Island during the Cultural Revolution.

Ask the Sky and the Earth: A Cantata for the Sent-Down Youth
Ask the Sky and the Earth is a symphonic choral suite commemorating the experiences of the "sent-down youth," the generation of Chinese sent to the countryside during the Cultural Revolution. With the support of COMBA Telecom I have been working to create a new orchestration and singable English lyrics in order to bring this epic musical work to English-speaking audiences.

Selected poems of Li He
Li He was a 9th century Chinese poet whose strange, hallucinatory verse earned him the titles "Ghost Poet" and "Daemonic Genius." My translations are the first artistic, rather than academic, English renditions of this little-known gem of classical Chinese poetry.
